China Consumer Association recently released a report, China’s sales of light through the maintenance of low energy, short life, showing a “no section of saving money,” the status quo. According to national standards, energy saving lamp life to 6000 hours should be more than 2000 hours luminous maintenance rate should not be less than 80%. Big toothed dogs are nice animals to feed. Egg-producing chickens are not.
Left-over food, minutes after a delicious meal, becomes garbage to be trucked away out of sight rather than a valuable homemade soil conditioner.

Although details may vary slightly from home to home, the average mobile home built up to the mid 80′s is constructed with 2 x 4 in. exterior walls and RSI 2.1 (R-12) batt insulation. Mobile homes built before the mid-1970′s are less airtight than newer homes. Generally, the leakage areas are distributed all throughout the unit, but in double-wide homes, the joint between the two halves can be a source of significant air leakage. In fact, if you combine all sources, there is an average 12 x 13 in. air gap.
Homes with forced-air systems often do not have cold air ducts which inhibits ventilation of the entire unit. Homes usually sit on pile foundations with an un-insulated, unheated crawl space.

Recirc Pumps – Convert to a Demand System and Save Energy and Money!

What is a recirc pump? It’s a circulating pump, a pump normally used in large residential plumbing layouts where it would take much too long to get hot water by just running the faucet. Replacing it with a demand hot water system results in a much greener system.
Traditionally, the hot water piping had a pipe connected from the last fixture on the main hot water run back to the water heater with a pump at the far end of the dedicated hot water return line.
The nice things about hot water circulating systems are the instant hot water available at the fixtures, and you save a lot of water that would otherwise be run down the drain.
The downside is that the system is a huge waster of energy. Keeping the hot water piping full of hot water requires both pumping energy, and it requires that the water heater fires more often to keep replacing the heat being lost from the piping system.
A residential plumbing layout is like a big car radiator. It continually cools off the hot water being re-circulated by the recirc pump.
The amount of wasted energy can be reduced by reducing the amount of time the pump runs. It could be turned off late at night and then back on early in the morning. Perhaps if no one is home during the day it could be turned off as well. However, it’s an inconvenience if you happen to want hot water when the system isn’t operating, and it’s not always easy to predict when you might need hot water.

Save Energy With LED Light Bulbs

LED is generally a light emitting semiconductor device that emits light in the forward direction or it emits light towards a pointed direction. It is most commonly used in an electronic device in the form of an indicator light, traffic signal lights, musical instruments and dashboards in cars and even in the houses and so on. The LED Light bulbs are made by arranging the light emitting devices in the form of a light bulb. And, one can nearly save energy up to 80% by using the LED light bulbs.
The lifespan of LED bulbs totally depends upon its manufacturing process and it can go up to 1,000,000 hours, as compared with the other compact fluorescent lamps and incandescent bulbs. LED’s by nature emits light in a very small band of wavelength and produces a strong colored light. LED bulbs even improve the energy efficiency and generate multiple colors of light. A light emitting diode or LED is generally a semiconductor light source.
LED light bulbs also constitutes many advantages over incandescent light sources and also includes lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size, faster switching, and greater durability and reliability. And, it has even been observed that, they are relatively less expensive and requires more heat management than traditional light sources.
Most of the LED’s bulbs operate in a range of 2 to 4 volts and consumes between 350 mw and 1500 mw. However, traditional incandescent light bulbs waste up to 80% of its energy in the form of heat that they produce, whereas, led light bulbs on the other hand saves the energy since heat emission is minimal. One of the factors that affect the power consumption of the LED is the fact that LED cannot be dimmed, as they produce light of higher intensity.
Some of the benefits of using the LED bulbs over standard light bulbs include the fact that: the power consumption of LED bulb is only 10% over a standard light bulb. Then it can withstand a great amount of vibration, shock, and temperature variations. These bulbs also constitute 10 to 60 times more of energy saving than compared to other incandescent lamps. Then some of the other advantage is this that, LED’s bulbs does not emit light that flickers, whereas, the incandescent bulbs produces the light that flickers. And, it even produces many rich and vibrant colours. Thus, it effectively reduces the power consumption by almost 30%.
